Mark your calendars. July 22nd, ITunes. A lil gift for everyone, its going to be insane with everyone collabing on the album...We are entering an era of evolution in music. Genres are intertwining. Electronic and hip-hop. Pop and R&B;. Many styles appear to be dying. The resurrection lies within the DJ.
What drives me if the fact that everyone, in the end, just wants to dance. If youre not at least tapping a foot, Im back at the drawing board. The basslines are so climactic, you can tell the commercial break is coming. Life and all its natural sounds are my percussions. Psychics SEE the future My synths are how you FEEL it. My inspirations include the music theory of House, Hip-Hop, and downtempo.-
Bounce Council, aka The Council of Bounce, aka WIll Gill, is the producer, songwriter, and DJ inspired by one goal: To make you, the world, dance. I was raised by a family of jazz and funk. I hung out with friends in hip-hop and electronic. I started out DJng house parties, clubs, and mixing tracks for MSUs dance team. After the team placed top 3 @ ESPNs Dance Team Championship, the rest of MSUs athletic department followed, looking for remixes of their own. Word spread throughout the dance community from the studios to b-boy squads.
Impressed by the ear for eclectic, yet mainstream sounds, one of my professors helped me to land an internship with RJ Rice, CEO of Barak records. It was there at the home of Slum Village that RJ Rice taught me how much power and respect Detroits MUSIC scene truly has. While interning, I began working at Power 96.5 Radio Lansing writing scripts and impersonating celebrities on the evenings THE BLOCK segment. Then decided to step outside the box and began marketing my compositions to ringtone and advertising companies. The success with ringtones helped get me a ticket to Los Angeles to pursue the industry and make them bounce. Then, MTV stepped in and offered me a chance to have the pursuit documented in Hollywood
Though the decision to HAVE OUR LIVES TAPED was for pure fun and the experience, Bounce Council preceded the documentary and continues on as the as the DJ and the Producer which, since the beginning of hip-hop, has been kin to one another.
